Year 1/2 Sustainability

The whole school CBL focus for Term 2 has been Sustainability. In Level 1/2 our Big Idea was – Sustainability affects our world and all of us. Our Key Understanding was – I can explain that living things have different features. As well as exploring these ideas in class we had a educational incursion about minibeasts and an exciting excursion to the Cranbourne Botanic Gardens. The incursion gave all students the opportunity to study and interact with all sorts of water and land minibeast like: butterflies, stick insects, mussels, water insects and beetles. The excursion to the Botanic Gardens was an opportunity to look at plants and animals of Australia and discuss their similarities, differences and how they all benefit our environment in some way.
