Prep- Welcome!

Whoa!

We can’t believe it’s already been 6 weeks of Prep! Time flies when you’re having fun!

We are so PROUD of the Preps and how beautifully they have settled into school. Even their specialist teachers can’t stop raving about what a wonderful start to HPS they have had!

So what’s been happening in Prep so far?

Students begin their morning engaging in hands on activities to help them learn their Magic Words. Their favourite activities include: making words with Play Doh, fishing for them and using magnetic letters.

After this, students spend the morning continuing to learn about letters and sounds, as well as the skills required to read and write repetitive texts! Mr Arendshorst and Miss McDermott have LOVED beginning to read in guided groups and one-on-one with the students.

During our first few weeks of Maths, we had been learning how to say, make and write numbers! One of our favourite activities was making block towers to represent them. Can you count some of the numbers we have made?

Thank you to all the parents that have supported their children to make such an AMAZING start to school. We can’t wait to spend the year with this brilliant group of students!
