Highvale’s spacious buildings and award-winning parkland setting are the envy of many primary schools.
Several classes enjoy double classrooms where two normal rooms have been joined for the extra benefit of one class. We also have two double-sized general purpose rooms, both of which are carpeted and suitable for concerts, dances, visiting specialists or large-group activities.
Highvale has an art room with a specialist teacher, a separate library, a music room, computer laboratory, German room, Mandarin room and parents’ meeting room.
Outside, we have new and separate playgrounds for the junior and senior children. For the juniors there is also a large sandlot area and a native garden and for the seniors there is an oval, cricket nets and basketball/netball courts. All children have access to a special “quiet area” of rustic beauty dwarfed by towering gum trees.
Conveniently located beside the Highvale Secondary College, our school benefits in several ways from cross-age tutoring with the secondary students. Our location in Ashton Street, Glen Waverley, is well away from major roads and contributes to our fine safety record.
